Watch Art Come to Life

Today is Family Day at the RVA Street Art Festival - free arts activities for children! 11am to 6pm

Be sure to take a historically-narrated Canal Cruise while you are down at the Turning Basin. Hours today are 12-5pm.

Adults: $6, Children (5 to 12 years old): $5, Seniors (65 years and up): $5 and Children 4 and under: Free

How many times have you heard an old song and found yourself instantly recalling where you were, who you were with, and what you were doing when you first heard it? Framing old records, concert tickets, and even your favorite old radio can help you share and enjoy those memories every time you see them on the wall. Maybe they’ve been replaced by your iPod, but there’s no reason they can’t still bring a smile to your face!

Mural on Hull Street

This  in-progress mural (1202 N. Hull Street) is being done by Pixel Poncho as part of the G40 Art Summit. Murals are popping up all over town, mainly on the other side of the river, so it’s nice to see a neglected part of town get some art love.  Larger pictures of the mural can be found on Flickr, including closeups of each section.

Part of their mission is to be sure products continue to made and sold in America, and employing Americans. Their commitment to global releaf is another way they continue this mission.
